Ben fishbein
Ben’s been many things, but he likes to be known as a grower. A laborer of love, spending the days tending to the wellbeing of vegetables, trees, houseplants, himself and his community. He’s a marathon runner, a goofball, a man that stands in awe of others, a man that stands in awe of himself. He lives in Burlington, VT, where he’s probably playing with his cat, Luna. He knows you’re out there somewhere, and he’s desperate to know where his head would lie if you gave him a hug.
James Frank
Does anyone ever really like writing a bio? James Frank doesn’t really. Should I write this from first person? Or does he witness himself as he writes and wonders how this will sound to the men that join this group? Definitely. But it’s okay, because I’m passionate about being human. Fully. Even when it means feeling hesitant, uncertain, self-conscious, scared, embarrassed, YOU NAME IT. Beyond all the shiny qualities we can express, I really appreciate being with men who are willing to show their vulnerability and sense of not-knowing, especially in this world where I was taught that I had to be the authority. What a weight!
And yet, I’ve spent a lot of time becoming a professional and authority on several subjects, namely trauma, meditation, and somatic healing. I’m also fascinated by relationships, why they work, why they don’t, and where I get stuck. But healing, meditation, and relationships, for me, flourish when I can sit back and really not be the authority. Ask my girlfriend. She definitely doesn’t like Authority James. So I’m softening to unlearn, to see more clearly, and to show up without pretending that I actually know what’s going on. So I’m humbled by Life and try to say Yes to what Life offers as much as I can. As long as it’s not candy from strangers or leftovers from Pete Mclean. I’d eat leftovers from Ben or Davis, but definitely not Pete.
Davis Cowles
Have you ever imagined yourself miniature, existing in the vast universe of a potted plant or stack of rocks? Davis does that a lot, like A LOT. That may be all you need to know, but in the event you want more, Davis is a personal coach, yoga teacher, and adventure guide. He lives in Carbondale, CO, where you can frequently find him climbing rocks and going fast down hills. He knows you possess multitudes, and would like to get to know you. Reach out!
Peter McLean
Believes that our grief points us towards our gifts. And our gifts, only when informed by our grief, points the way to our life’s purpose. And, lastly, the most effective way to court that grief and those gifts is through ritual and ceremony together with others in the natural world.
He lives in Sandpoint Idaho with his fiancé and collaborator, Kelly Kietzman, her two children and their 3 dogs, on the edge of Lake Pend Oreille.
